Reading is essential! Learning to read provides children with a broader use of language.
Reading helps them in becoming independent, in everyday life. Being able to
read signs, warning labels, and just being able to keep up in the classroom are just a
few advantages of reading. I am often asked how can I get my child to read
better? The answer is simply read with them. Buy books cut back on some of their tv time, make it reading time instead. The fact is the more a child is
read to the more they will take interest in reading. They will begin to recognize words that will be memorized for life. They learn phonemes- sounds that help form words. Bottom line the more a child is either read to or reads on their own the better reader they become. Reading with your children also gives you, and your child precious time together.
